Session Details:

The John Coltrane Reference book notes on which tracks Coltrane plays the tenor and on which he plays the soprano. Lord simply notes that Coltrane played both during this session, but does not provide any specificity.

The John Coltrane Reference book has extensive detail on this session. Lord's discography seems to be going back and looking at the tracks that were eventually issued and/or re-issued and only including those. We believe the book source's extensive and complete notes to be the best scholarship on Coltrane, and this session. However, we used Lord's succinct discography here, in order for us to quickly get this session included for now. We hope to update this session when time permits. If anyone wishes to refer to the Coltrane Reference book on their own, the session is under the discography number: 63-0306.
