Session Details:

This was a live performance at the 1961 Newport Jazz Festival in Newport, RI.

The John Coltrane Reference Book specifies that Coltrane plays tenor on the first two tracks, and soprano on the last track ("My Favorite Things"). The book source also notes that aural evidence from the performance suggests that Art Davis plays bass only on the last track, on which both bassists play. These two technicalities were not mentioned or clarified by Lord.

The announcer, who appears on the first "Announcement" track is unidentified.
