Session Details:

The liner notes for the CD reissue list Danny Bank as playing Bari sax, bass clarinet & flute. jazzdisco.org has him only on flute and bari sax. Neither source indicate which tracks he plays which. The recording has the background musicians so soft--in concordance with the cool style of the singing and music-- that it's difficult upon listening to hear each instrument and which are on which tracks.

Also, the liner notes state that "Hinton and Jones" do not play this session, as opposed to the 12/22/1954, but are replaced by Pettiford on Bass and Donaldson on drums. Of course, Jones doesn't play drums, he plays piano, which makes me think the writer mean "Johnson" and not "Jones". Sure enough, jazzdisco.org does in fact list donaldson and pettiford as the bass/drums on this session, differeing from the 12/22/54 lineup of johnson and Hinton. Jimmy Jones plays piano on this (12/24/54) session, as you can tell just by listening to it. Looks like it is a typo on the liner notes, anyway.
