Session Details:

Hazevoet notes that the performance/recording location was "probably" Lincoln Center.

Hazevoet notes that Buster Bailey is often incorrectly listed as present, and playing clarinet on the first track. The first clarinet solo is by Fields, who then switches to tenor. Scott is the other clarinetist. Also incorrectly noted in Jazz Archives 35: Byas is listed as the first tenor to solo on "The Romp." However, Fields is the first to solo on tenor, then Webster, who is followed by Byas. Hazevoet notes that the location and date are also often incorrectly given as: Onyx Club, August 20, 1945. However, an advertisement in the "New York Amsterdam News" reflects the information that seems to be more accurate - and that is what Hazevoet, and we have chosen to reflect.

Herbie Fields play clarinet and tenor saxophone on first track, and only tenor on second track.
