Session Details:

Bruyninckx lists this as "same possible personnel" as the Pershing Ballroom concert in the Fall of 1948. In Peter Losin's discographies of Miles Davis and Charlie Parker, he makes a pretty compelling argument as to why those two did not play with Gillespie's big band this late in 1948, and so it is assumed it is everybody EXCEPT Davis and Parker on this session. Attic Toys lists this session among its Johnny Hartman sessionography entries. The personnel is slightly different from Bruyninckx. Since Bruyninckx is openly unsure of this aspect, we will lean towards Cohen's Attic Toys. -JS

Furthermore, Bruyninckx lists some of these tracks as occurring on October 5, while attic toys lists all tracks as coming from October 9. Not sure who to trust, although Attic Toys definitely came after Bruyninckx. We are sticking with Noal Cohen's Attic Toys, since it is the more recently exhaustively researched source. Cohen does, however, say that tracks 11-13 did not necessarily occur on this date. However, that doesn't exactly coincide with Bruyninckx data, and so we are keeping this all in one session at least to make it easier to read about.

Also, it is listed as a broadcast of a live show. -JS
