Dizzy Gillespie May 9, 1982
We have to assume that "We Call the Brother K" is the tune generally called "Brother K". The title that Lord uses, with the extra phrase, is clearly taken directly from the back of the CD release, which is an ultra-rare special edition only given to customers of a Swiss Bank Company. The chances of a foreign release misstating the title of a live track for a private release is far greater than the likelihood that Gillespie wrote two songs: one called "Brother K", and the other called "We Call the Brother K".
Also, the final track is simply referred to as "From Gillespiana". This surely refers to the suite by Lalo Schifrin consisting of five songs: Prelude, Blues, Africana, Toccata, and Panamericana. Whether it is a short medley of all of them, or just one is unknown. -JS
