Session Details:

This was a live recording, first released by Savoy, which is why we have "Live/Savoy" listed as the label. Also, Burton and Sutherland mispell the bassist's name as "McGibbon". -JS

Sutherland and Burton list only one track of A Night in Tunisia and of Groovin' High, but jazzdisco.org list two parts to the track, each with individual matrix number. Since we only have track time for one full track, continuously played ostensibly, we have put both matrix numbers in the track listing. -JS

This is one of three sets that Dizzy played on this night at this location. Normally, we only list one leader per session, but in this case, it really is pertinent to distinguish that this was a session by Diz and Bird, while the other two were without Bird, and with Diz' full orchestra. Part of the reasoning is that, in a lot of ways, Bird and Diz were partners, so if they were together as 40% of a group, then one left, and the other called up 15 other musicians, that should count as a separate session, even though it was still led by Dizzy, and it was all live, not in a recording studio. -JS
