This is an apocryphal gig that Sun Ra (then known as Hermon or Sonny Blount) referred to in interviews. According to Campbell, Danny Ray Thompson corroborated Sun Ra's account of "gig with Coleman Hawkins on the North Side of Chicago" and said that it may have been recorded, with the recording still in existence. The titles of the tracks played is unknown. -JS
