Okay, lots of interesting stuff here! The dates, first of all: lots of disagreement on the dates, but as Losin summarizes, pretty much all between May & June. The June dates seem unlikely, though, since Fats Navarro died in early July of tuberculosis, and his blowing on these tracks don't sound like someone at death's door (according to my sources' ears). Kenneth Vail, in a biography of Bird, claims the performances were spread out over a week:

  • May 17 (Wed): 52nd Street Theme, Wahoo, 'Round Midnight, This Time the Dream's on Me, Dizzy Atmosphere, Move, and 52nd Street Theme

  • May 18 (Thu; Bishop replaces Powell): 52nd Street Theme, A Night in Tunisia, The Street Beat, Out of Nowhere

  • May 20 (Sat; Powell back in group): Little Willie Leaps, 52nd Street Theme

  • May 21 (Sun): Ornithology, I'll Remember April, 52nd Street Theme, Embraceable You (Bishop replaces Powell)

  • May 23 (Tue): Lover Come Back to Me (see June-July 1950)

  •

  • Also, According to Sutherland, some sources have Potter replacing Russell on Embraceable You, Cool Blues & the final 52nd Street Theme.Ditto for some sources saying Little Jimmy Scott on vocals, and others Chubby Newsome. We've listed them both, but it's one or the other.
